How to draw Lewis structures and molecules

Textbook dot-and-bond Lewis structures plus interactive 3D molecules — a 300-compound library built from NCERT/CBSE chemistry chapters.

Two elements cover molecular chemistry: lewis draws the flat textbook structure — element symbols, bond dashes, lone-pair dots, formal charges — while mol inserts a molecule that opens an interactive 3Dmol view in the editor.

Lewis structures

Lone pairs are computed from valence electrons, so water shows oxygen with two pairs and carbon dioxide shows the two double bonds:

lewis w mol=H2O pos=130,110 size=65
lewis c mol=CO2 pos=360,110 size=65
OHH OOC

Salts and ions carry their formal charges — sulfate keeps its charge marks:

lewis s mol=SO4 pos=210,110 size=75
SO−O−OO

3D molecules

mol m1 mol=CH4 places a labelled sphere; double-click it in the editor for the interactive viewer (rotate, zoom, ball-and-stick/space-fill). The library covers ~300 compounds from the CBSE chapters — organics, salts, ions, oxoacids:
